Love More, Spend Less

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to come with big expectations — or an even bigger bill. This February, Great World is redefining how love is celebrated, proving that the most meaningful moments don’t need extravagant spending to feel special.

From heartfelt messages to a thoughtfully curated date experience, Great World’s Valentine’s experience is all about one simple idea: when you spend less on the fuss, you get more room for what really matters — love.

Love, In All Its Forms (2–12 Feb)

Ahead of Valentine’s Day, Great World is inviting shoppers to begin with what truly matters — expressing love in its many forms.

From 2 to 12 February, members of the public can submit a love message or image dedicated to someone special in their lives. It could be for a partner, parents, children, friends, pets, or even a note of appreciation to yourself. There’s no “right” way to do it — just honest, heartfelt messages that reflect everyday love.

Selected submissions will be featured across Great World’s in-mall digital screens and social media platforms, turning a regular mall visit into something a little more personal. Some entries will also receive a Slow Green rose bowl as a small keepsake to mark the moment.

To take part, you can:

  • Submit your love message here
  • Or scan the QR code here or those displayed on-site around the mall

More details on the overall Valentine’s experience can be found here.

Where Love Turns Into Quality Time (13–15 Feb)

From 13 to 15 February, selected love messages will start appearing across digital panels throughout Great World — keep an eye out for subtle hints scattered around the mall, and you’ll be led to a lovely surprise.

Head up to Level 3 Roof Terrace, where Great World has created a relaxed, no-frills spot that’s perfect for spending time together*. Think easy conversations, unhurried moments, and a setting that feels special without trying too hard.

This isn’t just for couples. Families, friends, and multi-generation groups will feel right at home here too — because love doesn’t come in just one form.

* subject to weather conditions

Simple, Thoughtful, and (Quietly) Atas

To make things easy, picnic mats are provided, so all you need to do is grab your food and settle in.

Food options nearby keep things accessible and satisfying, with crowd favourites like Maki San (#B1-K104), Wok Hey  (#B1-K120) (opening soon), and Hong Lim Curry Puff (#B1-K128) (opening soon) offering familiar comfort food that’s easy to share and easy on the wallet. No fancy reservations, no complicated planning — just good food and good company.

You can also share love messages during your visit, with selected messages appearing on digital panels — a small but meaningful touch that adds to the experience.

Valentine’s, On Great World’s (13–14 Feb)

If you’re stopping by on 13 – 15 February, Great World has quietly added a few thoughtful touches to make the visit feel extra special.

Simply share a secret code at the Customer Service Counter on Level 2, and you’ll receive a curated set of complimentary items designed to complete the experience — no spending pressure, no hoops to jump through.

The bundle includes:

  • A tealight candle, perfect for setting a cosy mood later in the evening

  • A $10 Slow Green (#02-K103) voucher, ideal for picking up a small floral treat or greenery

  • A small bowl from The Berry Spot (#B1-K111) with two toppings, for something sweet to share

  • A picnic mat, so you can settle in comfortably and enjoy the moment

Taken together, these little details add up to something meaningful — thoughtful touches that encourage you to pause, hang around a little longer, and enjoy being together.

There’s no big minimum spend and no complicated mechanics involved. It’s simply Great World’s way of saying: come as you are, enjoy the moment, and let the rest fall into place.

Because Love Isn’t About Spending More

Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be loud or lavish to be memorable. Sometimes, it’s the quieter moments — a shared meal, a handwritten message, time spent together — that stay with us the longest.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate that feels genuine, relaxed, and easy on the wallet, this might be one to bookmark.

Love More, Spend Less.
Only at Great World.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Unveils Valentine’s Bunny Bag with Tumbler

Ask us questions, discover the latest offers & more on Telegram.

Valentine’s gifts don’t always have to be flowers or chocolates — sometimes, the ones that get the loudest “OMG so cute” are the most unexpected. This season, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Singapore brings a playful twist to everyday coffee runs with the HOTPLUS Valentine’s Bunny Bag with Tumbler, a collectible that’s designed to be worn, carried, and used.

At first glance, it’s an irresistibly fluffy bunny dressed in soft baby pink. Look closer, and you’ll realise it’s actually a functional mini bag, complete with a chain strap and a cleverly hidden compartment that fits a 450ml tumbler perfectly inside. Cute enough to turn heads, practical enough to justify bringing it out daily.

The tumbler itself is no afterthought. Made with double-wall stainless steel, it keeps drinks at the right temperature and comes with two interchangeable lids to match your vibe — a straw lid for fuss-free sipping on the go, and a wide-mouth lid that lets you pour into the accompanying cup when you want to slow down and savour the moment.

It’s the kind of Valentine’s drop that works whether you’re gifting it to someone special or quietly adding it to your own collection. Equal parts charming and usable, this bunny bag proves that functional can still be ridiculously adorable.

Price: $49.90 per set with any purchase (U.P. $59.90)

How to Save Money for Your Valentine’s Date

This Valentine’s Day marks my third one with my husband as a married couple. We’ve never been the type to splurge on overpriced flowers or chocolates as the price tags are just too outrageous! But just because February 14th can be expensive doesn’t mean you have to splurge to make it special.

If you’re looking to celebrate on a budget, consider swapping extravagant gifts for thoughtful, homemade surprises. A cozy date night at home can be just as romantic as a fancy dinner out. That said, if there’s a restaurant you’ve been dying to try, Valentine’s Day could be the perfect excuse to finally check it off your list.

#1: THINK ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP STAGE

Before planning your celebration, think about where you and your partner stand in your relationship. If this is your first Valentine’s Day together, a conservative budget like $50 or less might be a good starting point.

While spending more doesn’t necessarily equate to deeper feelings, starting with a smaller gesture can help set realistic expectations and avoid going overboard too soon.

#2: DISCUSS YOUR BUDGET

No one wants an awkward moment when exchanging gifts and realizing one of you went all out while the other kept it simple. To avoid mismatched expectations, have an open conversation about spending limits beforehand.

Being upfront about what you can afford is key for Valentine’s Day and for future milestones like birthdays, holidays, and weddings (if things go the distance).

#3: CELEBRATE AT HOME

A home-cooked meal can be just as romantic than dining at a fancy restaurant. Whether you cook together or surprise your partner with a special dish, staying in allows you to enjoy an intimate evening without the hefty price tag.

And don’t feel pressured to whip up an extravagant feast. Even a simple charcuterie board, complete with cheese, cured meats, and fruit, can feel elegant when paired with candlelight, rose petals, and a glass of bubbly.

#4: GIVE SOMETHING MEANINGFUL

A meaningful gift doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. Instead of pricey jewelry or gourmet chocolates, consider an experience you can enjoy together like visiting a museum, creating perfume, or attending a local theater production.

Or, go the DIY route. A handwritten love letter, homemade cookies, or a framed poem can feel far more special than anything store-bought.

#5: USE YOUR CREDIT CARD POINTS

If you’ve been racking up credit card points, now might be the time to put them to use! Many people let rewards go unused, but redeeming them for a discounted dinner, a fun activity, or even a future getaway can be a smart way to celebrate without dipping into your budget.

IN A NUTSHELL

Valentine’s Day isn’t about how much you spend—it’s about showing your love and appreciation in a meaningful way. With a little creativity and planning, you can create a memorable celebration without the expensive price tag.
