McDonald’s x Old Chang Kee Curry Burgers Are Coming This National Day — And Yes, There’s Curry McShaker Fries Too

Two Singapore favourites are joining forces this National Day, and the result is probably one of the most unexpected fast-food collabs of the year.

McDonald’s Singapore has teamed up with Old Chang Kee to launch a new curry-inspired menu, bringing together the golden arches and one of Singapore’s most iconic curry puff names for a limited-time celebration of local flavours.

Leading the line-up is the Curry Potato Chicken Burger, co-created with Old Chang Kee. Think crispy chicken patty, fried egg, and a generous layer of flavour-packed curry potato filling — basically the familiar comfort of curry potato, reimagined in burger form. It will be available in Single and Double versions, with Extra Value Meals from S$9.20 and S$11.20 respectively.

For those who prefer something richer and meatier, the Rendang Curry Beef Burger will join the menu later in the month. This one features juicy beef patties dipped in a rich rendang curry sauce, layered with fried egg and fragrant onions. It will also be available in Single and Double versions, with Extra Value Meals from S$9.50 and S$12.30respectively.

And because no curry-themed McDonald’s drop is complete without fries, there’s also Curry McShaker™ Fries. The fast-food chain’s signature golden fries get tossed in a fragrant curry seasoning co-created with Old Chang Kee, available as a meal upgrade for S$1.25.

The sweet treats are getting a refresh too. The Pineapple Coconut Pie, priced from S$1.80, features a crispy pastry filled with pineapple and creamy coconut.

Also joining the line-up are Sweet Potato Mochi Balls, available in 4-piece and 8-piece options from S$2.05 and S$4.15, plus Mango Soft Serve from S$1.30, available as a cone, twist, ChocoCone®, sundae or McFlurry® option.

Curry sauce fans, this is your cue: McDonald’s viral Curry Sauce Bottle is also making a comeback from 9 July with four unique designs. It will be available at S$5.50 with any meal purchase, or S$8.90 à la carte, while stocks last.

There’s more for collectors too. From 23 July, 11am, McDonald’s will launch a limited-edition Insulated Lunch Bag at S$9.90 with every meal purchase. McDonald’s Members can also redeem a matching Lunch Bag Charm from 27 July, 3pm, using 1,500 MyM Rewards Points exclusively on the McDonald’s app at selected restaurants.

Here’s when to mark your calendar:

From 9 July, 11am, the Curry Potato Chicken Burger, Curry McShaker™ Fries, Pineapple Coconut Pie and Curry Sauce Bottles will be available islandwide at McDonald’s restaurants, Drive-Thrus, McDelivery®, GrabFood and foodpanda.

From 23 July, 11am, the Rendang Curry Beef Burger and Insulated Lunch Bag will be available.

Old Chang Kee to launch D24 Durian Ball on 1 Aug; brings back Chilli Crab Sauce with Fried Mantou

This year, Old Chang Kee is celebrating Singapore’s 58th Birthday Bash with its NDP Local Fiesta. The fiesta features a mix of popular items from last year and introduces a new local delight that will surely delight durian lovers.

NDP Local Fiesta Snack Item A – !

One of the featured snack items is the Chilli Crab Sauce with Fried Mantou. This special treat, inspired by the iconic Singapore Chilli Crab dish, is back by popular demand. Old Chang Kee’s Chilli Crab Sauce with Fried Mantou is served in a convenient Grab-and-Go cup, priced at $4 per cup. Each cup contains 4 pieces of crispy Fried Mantou, accompanied by Old Chang Kee’s special Chilli Crab Sauce, which is sweet, savory, and slightly spicy. This allows everyone to enjoy the classic combination of Chilli Crab Sauce and Fried Mantou on the go, anytime and anywhere. The snack will be available at Old Chang Kee outlets islandwide from June 22 to August 31, 2023, while stocks last for the day.

NDP Local Fiesta Snack Item B – D24 Durian Ball

The second snack item is the D24 Durian Ball, a brand-new dessert that will be launched on August 1, 2023. This delectable treat is perfect for durian lovers. The D24 Durian Ball features premium D24 durian fillings wrapped in golden crispy and chewy mochi. Its irresistible taste will leave you craving for more. The Durian Balls will be available for purchase at all Old Chang Kee outlets in Singapore, as well as on popular delivery platforms such as GrabFood, FoodPanda, or Deliveroo, starting from August 1, 2023. Old Chang Kee Coffee House

Old Chang Kee’s sub-brand, Coffee House, will also join in the National Day celebrations by offering a new NDP meal. The Fish Cutlet with Chilli Crab Sauce Rice Bowl will be available at all four Old Chang Kee Coffee House outlets from mid-July onwards. Priced at $14.90 per set, the meal comes with a complimentary Ice Lemon Tea. For those who prefer to enjoy the new National Day dish at home, it can be ordered through delivery partners’ platforms, with terms and conditions applying.

Curry Times

Additionally, Curry Times, Old Chang Kee’s sister brand, will also introduce NDP-themed dishes and items for National Day. Customers can try the Nasi Lemak Batang Fish served with sweet, savory Chilli Crab Sauce that has a hint of tangy spiciness. Furthermore, there will be a special encore of the popular Chilli Crab Buns with real chilli crab meat, freshly baked in-store. These delectable offerings will be available at all Curry Times outlets in Singapore from early August 2023 onwards.

Old Chang Kee Group has announced via a media release that they have collaborated with one of Singapore’s renowned local heritage brands – Jumain Sataysfaction® to bring us delicious satays! The collaboration will see authentic Jumain Sataysfaction® halal satay with satay sauce being launched at over 70 outlets islandwide.

The Old Chang Kee’s Chicken Satay In A Cup will be available at S$4 per cup from 13 April to 15 May 2022, which includes 5 sticks of halal-certified skewered chicken meat marinated with authentic spices.

It will be available for sale at Old Chang Kee outlets as well as on food delivery platforms such as foodpanda, GrabFood or Deliveroo. The delivery satay bundle will be available at $10 per bundle of 10 sticks and will be served with separate satay sauce. Get extra cup of satay sauce for an additional $1.
