Singapore’s most recognisable icon is getting an irresistibly cute Monchhichi makeover just in time for National Day.
The Singapore-Exclusive Monchhichi Merlion Plush Pendant will officially arrive at Simply Toys and Simply Zakka stores from Saturday, 1 August 2026, giving collectors another distinctly local piece to add to their shelves—or clip onto their bags.
Combining Japan’s iconic Monchhichi character with Singapore’s beloved Merlion, the special release commemorates Singapore’s 61st birthday on 9 August. With its unmistakably local design and limited availability, this could quickly become one of the season’s most sought-after collectibles.
Limited Quantities Available Daily
Collectors hoping to secure the Monchhichi Merlion Plush Pendant may want to head down early.
Stocks will be released in very limited quantities each day, with purchases capped at a maximum of two pieces per customer. Availability is strictly while stocks last.

Monchhichi Merlion Collectibles Will Also Be Available At Shell
Shell is also joining the National Day celebrations with its own limited-edition Shell x Monchhichi collection, available at Shell service stations islandwide from 1 August to 30 September 2026, while stocks last. The collection includes Singapore-inspired designs based on the Merlion and nostalgic kopitiam culture.
Under the separate Shell promotion, customers can purchase:
- Monchhichi Merlion Mini Plush Keychain at S$28.90 after accumulating 80 litres of Shell V-Power through Shell GO+
- Monchhichi Merlion Plush Doll at S$37.90 after accumulating 80 litres of Shell V-Power through Shell GO+
Both collectibles are subject to the applicable promotional requirements and stock availability.
