Chin Mee Chin Confectionery to Open First Mall Outlet at NEX

After nearly a century in Katong, Chin Mee Chin Confectionery is finally heading to the Northeast with its first-ever branch outside its iconic East Coast location.

The beloved heritage café will soon be opening at NEX, giving fans in Serangoon and nearby estates a much more convenient place to enjoy its old-school kaya toast breakfasts, kopi, pastries, and nostalgic local bakes.

For many Singaporeans, Chin Mee Chin is more than just a café. The longtime confectionery has become a go-to spot for charcoal-grilled kaya toast with thick slabs of butter, soft-boiled eggs, traditional kopi, and freshly baked buns that bring back memories of old-school coffee shops from decades ago.

Its revival over the past few years also introduced a new generation to the brand, with long queues regularly forming outside its East Coast Road outlet, especially during weekends and breakfast hours.

While full details of the NEX outlet have yet to be revealed, many fans are already hoping to see signature favourites make their way to the new branch — including its kaya buns, egg tarts, luncheon meat buns, and classic breakfast sets.

The move into NEX could also make Chin Mee Chin more accessible to shoppers, students, office workers, and families in the Northeast who previously had to travel across the island for a taste of the nostalgic café.

An official opening date has not been announced yet, but the upcoming outlet is already listed as “coming soon” at NEX.

Address: 23 Serangoon Central, B2-60/61 NEX, Singapore 556083
