If you’re already heading out for Chinese New Year shopping, Far East Malls has given you a good reason to linger a little longer. From now till early March, its malls are rolling out a Sanrio-themed festive lineup that blends cute collectables, rewarding spend mechanics, and photo-friendly displays across multiple locations.
The highlight is the Spend & Redeem promotion. Spend S$68 in a single receipt to redeem a Sanrio Characters Festive Couplets set, perfect for adding a playful touch to your home this CNY. Spend S$180 in a day (up to two same-day receipts), and you’ll also receive a limited-edition reversible Sanrio orange bag with a matching acrylic keychain. Each bag features dual designs inspired by fan favourites like Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, My Melody and Kuromi — practical for visiting relatives and cute enough to reuse beyond the festive period. Quantities are limited, so popular designs won’t last.
Shoppers can also unlock additional rewards via the shopFarEast app. With a minimum spend of S$38, upload your receipt to play the Chinese New Year in-app game and stand to win prizes such as dining treats, Far East Malls e-vouchers, and shopFarEast points, with rewards going up to 8,888 points.
Beyond the rewards, Sanrio fans can spot festive installations across several Far East Malls. Orchard Central features lighted pathways and larger-than-life character displays, while One Holland Village offers multiple photo spots anchored by a mandarin tree centrepiece. Smaller Sanrio touches can also be found at malls like Clarke Quay Central, Square 2 and West Coast Plaza — making it easy to stumble upon festive moments during your usual shopping runs.
Collectors should also watch out for Sanrio retail pop-ups at Orchard Central, One Holland Village and Clarke Quay Central, stocked with merchandise ranging from blind boxes and plushies to apparel and household items, including seasonal exclusives.
Drivers get an extra perk this Chinese New Year too. From 30 January to 6 March, shopFarEast members can redeem a complimentary, limited-edition Sanrio festive car decal featuring all five characters in their Chinese New Year outfits. To redeem, simply register your car’s IU in the shopFarEast app and present your profile and wallet page at the carparks of participating malls, including One Holland Village, Orchard Central, West Coast Plaza, Square2, and Clarke Quay Central. Redemptions are available while stocks last and may vary by mall.
There’s also a chance to win along the way. From 6 February to 6 March, every Friday between 5pm and 7pm, drivers spotted with the Sanrio car decal at participating malls stand to win a S$50 Far East Malls e-Voucher, with five winners selected each week.
