I got an email earlier this month from SkillsFuture Singapore reminding me that I’ve yet to use my One-off SkillsFuture Credit Top-up, which expires on 31 December 2025.

Don’t let your SkillsFuture Credit expire

I’ve been so busy, I haven’t had the time to look through the available courses I can claim for.

They recommended AI and Data Analytics courses, but I kinda have no huge interest in those two, though they seem to be highly sought after in the recent job market.

Hence, I Googled to see where I can use them, specifically for online courses, because attending a physical class would take too much of my time and effort.

I’ve got $500 left in my account, so to “max out” my limit, I could choose from these two:

If you’ve previously claimed your SkillsFuture Credits for other courses so you don’t have a full $500 to spare, you could also check out these online platforms for less:

Back to my situation… I was deliberating between Udemy Business and Coursera.

I’m quite familiar with Coursera because I’ve taken courses with them a long time ago.

Ah yes, before I forget…

There’s a deadline for registration or subscription, so be sure to check out the individual links above for more information.

For Coursera – ReallyLesson, their registration closes on Thursday, 18 December 2025.

As for Udemy Business – Republic Polytechnic, registration closes on Wednesday, 10 December 2025.

Once you’ve registered and the subscription officially begins, you can use the platform for an entire year, hence explaining the higher-than-usual price tag, ya.

Coursera’s subscription period: 27 December 2025 to 26 December 2026

Udemy Business’ subscription period: 17 December 2025 to 16 December 2026

Since I’ve already tried Coursera in the past, I headed over to Udemy Business’s Course List to see what they offer.

They’ve got quite an impressive list of courses; it’s impossible not to find something that you take an interest in.

For me, a quick scan and my eyes landed on “Language Learning.”

From French to German and even sign language, I’m like… I’mma go for this.

It’s “free” anyway.

For those who are curious, allow me to walk you through the process.

First up, I clicked on “Apply” on this page (at the end of the page), then “Sign in/Sign up.”

I then chose to sign in using Singpass for the platform to retrieve my personal information fast.

It shouldn’t take that long since your info is all recorded in the system.

Click on the above link again to direct you back to the course registration page and you should be directed to this page:

On Step 3, I selected “Confirm & pay now.”

On Step 4, the module name is reflected, and I also double-checked that the total amount payable is $499.22.

The final step is Step 5, where I chose to pay via SkillsFuture Credits (SFC).

Choose to pay via SkillsFuture Credits (SFC) page

Just follow through to sign in to your My SkillsFuture portal and then enter the amount to claim.

Once you’re done, return to the course registration page, and you will see that payment has been made and the outstanding amount to pay is $0.

You will receive a bunch of emails too, and the most important one is probably the “Notification of Course Confirmation for Udemy Business – Republic Polytechnic (Annual Subscription Plan)”:

And you’re good to go!

They mentioned that they will be sending me an email with the course details 1 week before the course date, so all that’s left to do is wait.

Easy peasy.

Now, over to you to make your claims!
